Jerrie Demasi

Jerrie Demasi is an investigative journalist who’s built a career focused on highlighting marginalised voices.

She currently works for Seven News Australia as a senior television reporter and presenter. Jerrie has held a diverse range of roles across her journalism career - from weather presenter and finance correspondent to hosting late-night news program The Latest for 7News. She also spent time in Los Angeles as a US correspondent, covering major international stories on the ground.

Having worked as a specialist crime reporter and editor for over a decade, Jerrie has won and earned nominations for several prestigious awards including The Kennedy Award’s Outstanding Nightly Television prize and the WA Media Award for Best Television News Report.

Outside of journalism, Jerrie is an established vocal performer having studied Musical Theatre at the prestigious WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). She fronts local touring act Felix, playing to thousands every month at events and festivals; with credits including support for INXS, Thirsty Mercy, Baby Animals and De La Soul.

Through her work, Jerrie Demasi endeavours to be a powerful force in Australian journalism, using her platform to promote truth, transparency, and positive change.

As a Master of Ceremonies, Jerrie brings her unique blend of gravitas, warmth, and stage presence. Her years in front of live audiences, both as a musician and a news reporter, mean she knows how to read a crowd, pace an event, and keep energy high. She’s comfortable shifting between formal and informal tones, capable of delivering serious moments with respect and levity with the right touch.  Jerrie’s experience covering high-stakes, high-emotion stories gives her empathy and clarity, two qualities that translate powerfully to MCing: she listens, she adapts, and she always keeps the purpose and connection of the event front-and-centre.
